Closer Huston Street, who converted 35 of 37 save opportunities last year, is dealing with inflammation in his right shoulder, saying his condition has improved and the situation is normal for early in spring training.Street has thrown four times in spring training. He threw three bullpen sessions, the second 10-minute outing being the most intense, and then threw 10 minutes of batting practice Feb. 26. He said he felt "normal" coming off the mound but "was pretty stiff" the next day.Street then rested for two days. Justin Morneau marked his return for Minnesota with a two-run double and Tim Wakefield tossed two scoreless innings for Boston in his first post-surgery appearance in a 5-0 victory by the Twins over the Red Sox on Friday. Morneau doubled to right in the first inning against Jon Lester, his first on-field action since a stress fracture in his lower back shut him down in mid-September.

Never mind the hard hit three-run homer he gave up to Juan Uribe. Jeff Francis felt good. And that's a big deal. After missing 18 months because of shoulder problems that required surgery, Francis was back on the mound again. He gave up four runs, four hits and two walks in two innings of the Colorado Rockies' 7-4, split-squad loss to the San Francisco Giants on Friday.

Next time, maybe Ubaldo Jimenez will just take the team bus. Held up by a traffic jam, Jimenez arrived too late to start Friday and instead made his spring training debut out of the bullpen for the Colorado Rockies. Slated to pitch against the Los Angeles Angels, Jimenez opted to drive himself to the ballpark rather than ride with the team.
